A harrowing incident has occurred as a woman was shot and killed just moments after sharing a disturbing video in which she predicted her own untimely death and named her alleged killer.
Mônica Cristina Gomes Cavalcante Alves, 26, was tragically shot five times near her home in front of a city courthouse.
Police have identified her husband, Leandro Pinheiro Barros, as the main suspect in the investigation and report that he has fled the scene.
The fatal incident took place in São José da Tapera, Alagoas State, Brazil, at approximately 5 a.m. on June 18.
Eyewitnesses and local media have reported that Gomes was seen engaged in an argument with Leandro Pinheiro Barros at a party shortly before her life was abruptly taken.
In a heart-wrenching video, she can be observed crying alone on the street at night, making accusations against her alleged killer.
According to reports, the suspect is the son of a sergeant serving in the Military Police in Sergipe State.
The police have confirmed that Pinheiro Barros fled the crime scene in a Jeep.
Diego Nunes, the police chief, stated that the motive behind the shooting remains unknown but confirmed that the victim’s husband is the primary suspect.
Nunes further revealed that the alleged murder occurred after an altercation at the party.
The victim’s body has been sent to a forensic institute for an autopsy before it is released for burial.
Gomes leaves behind two children, aged nine and three.
