A man has been taken into custody for the alleged murder of his grandmother after she insisted that he find a job.
The lifeless body of 76-year-old Socorro Muñoz was discovered with a bandaged head, two coins placed over her eyes, and a knife lodged in her chest.
Concerned neighbours, noticing Socorro’s absence and lack of response to calls, alerted her daughter Yolanda, who is 50 years old.
Family members entered the residence and were met with a gruesome scene in the victim’s bedroom.
Medical professionals who arrived at the scene confirmed the elderly woman’s passing.
Socorro’s body exhibited signs of violence.
Her 24-year-old grandson, identified as Sergio Vera, was apprehended on suspicion of murder on June 20th.
According to reports, the young man confessed to the crime, stating that he killed his grandmother because she insisted that he find employment.
